The sparkling crystal ice, which covers magnificent Lake Baikal for several months, will present you with a wonderful world of rainbow icy shadows and impressive silence, that is broken only by the sound of lonely birds. The bright sun, dark-blue sky and shining surface of icy Baikal will inspire you. You will be enthralled as you race through snow storms and hot springs in off-road vehicles as you travel over frozen Baikal. Safety of the off-road fleet during movement on ice is provided by ice guides in a rigged lead car and a team of experienced and professional drivers. Each car in the fleet carries a full supply of equipment and food to help you comfortably weather the severe conditions of Siberia. Excursion around the city. Start the expedition "Icy Baikal". Icy crossing to Baikal's biggest island – Olhon, which is the centre of Northern shamanism. Accommodation is in a comfortable cottage in the village Huzhir with a hot banya (Russian sauna) and dinner, consisting of Siberian dishes. Day 2 Participate in a shaman's ceremony, that is traditionally conducted before a long journey during which travelers are guided by the spirits. Excursion around Olhon, visiting the most picturesque objects, including the famous rock formation Shamanka and holy mountain Izhimey, welcoming Uzury, and three-headed rocky cape Sagan-Hushun. Accommodation is in a comfortable cottage in Huzhir. Day 3Move by ice along Maloye Sea past icy caves and giant crystal ice formations. Visit the North end of the creek Hoboy – the place for holding shamanism rituals. Accommodation is at a solitary tourist base in Zama. Day 4 Travel to the north of Baikal, crossing icy cracks. On the way experience of great panorama of mountain peaks of the Baikalsk and Barguzin Mountain ranges, severe Hamar-Daban, huge Island of Olhon and impressive mountain ensemble of Holy Nose peninsula will stretch before your eyes. Accommodation is in cozy houses in Zavorotnaya. Accommodation includes a banya, swimming in ice-hole and a dinner with traditional Baikal cuisine: fish soup and a dish made of fresh fish. Day 5 Cross the ice-covered lake to the peninsula Holy Nose. Visit archipelago Ushaknye Islands – home to the world's only freshwater seal, the Baikal Nerpa. Excursion around one of the most picturesque places of Baikal – Chivirkuisky Bay, famous for its boundless ice fishing. Unforgettable swimming in hot springs in the snowy creek Zmeinaya. Accommodation is in a hut. Day 6 Travel further north. Visit a central country-estate in the oldest nature reserve of Russia in the village of Davsha. Excursion to the Museum of Nature, where unique exhibits of flora and fauna are collected. Visit the health resort Hakusy, famous for the most powerful mineral spring in Baikal. Accommodation is in a hut. Day 7 Reach the north end of Baikal – Nizhneangarsk. Visit the young city Severobaikalsk, arising among taiga at the beginning of Baikalo-Amursk Railway (BAR). Excursion to the museum of BAR. Accommodation is in comfortable cottages with hot shower and sauna. Day 8 The itinerary of the expedition encircles the northern half of Baikal: return to creek Zavorotnaya along the coast of the border of Baikalo-Lensky Nature Reserve. Visit a dry, ancient lake bed and the hottest spring in Baikal (+81 C) in cape Kotelnicovsky. Accommodation is in comfortable houses with a banya, swimming in ice-hole. Day 9Visit the world famous Baikal anomaly – Cape Ritiy, described numerous legends and myths. Cross Maloye Sea and visit a holy spring with a high concentration of silver in water. Return to Olkhon. Accommodation is in a comfortable country-estate in Huzhir. Day 10 Completion of our trip "Around the World" of Baikal. Return to Irkutsk. Festive dinner celebrating culmination of the expedition.
